I am still crashing in game after doing a variety of things (Accessing asteroid belt dropdowns, looking at "Loot" overview at a POS, etc). I can also reproduce the screen flicker -> freeze 100% of the time by trying to create a new character. |

Wow, I was just about to post a response that the latest patch fixed something, and then my character got perma-frozen in space.
Today I was able to make a new character (finally made it through Character Creation without freezing at the final step). I flew around for a good 3 hours on two different characters.
As soon as I flew to one specific system, I froze, and continue freezing every time I log in. It seems like it might be due to some graphic such as a star in that system. I also froze once earlier due to mousing over an asteroid belt dropdown.
Fingers crossed... now my character can't skill or market =/ |

Ugh, this patch did not help me at all. I thought this thread (and the other one like it) were originally posted to describe a primarily IN-GAME issue with freezing. Now it seems that the black screen on start-up is fixed, but the actual reason for a number of these threads is still present.
Today I logged on, hoping to dock a the station I DC warp to every time I log in and start skilling up again. Unfortunately, I received the black screen flicker -> freeze before being able to dock.
I did notice that today I made it "past" a few flickers before one really caught on and slammed my screen to a halt.
Clearly there are still issues present due to the Feb 4th patch.
I will try and file logs as soon as possible, but I'm not quite sure whether I will be able to due to the forced force-quit of the application. |

Call Rollard wrote:I just experienced the flicker issue for the first time since this patch. So it isn't fixed However, this issue is now rare. I rarely experience it now so EVE is playable. Though maybe somewhere there is something still causing it.
I think this is the same for me. It just so happens that I am dced in a spot where it always occurs... Going to try some strange strategies like opening the map immediately upon login and such. I think it may be due to a star in the system I am in crashing my game when its graphics load. |

Meita Way wrote:Can anyone having freeze problems check the system error log after it happens ( open "console" ) and see if they're getting any error messages with "Channel exception!" in them ( just like the last time ).
I am, and it might be a similar bug to the last one I found that black screened at character selection.
Yes, I definitely have "Channel exception!"s

Minor break through!
I have been stuck in the same place (warping into a station) for the past few days. I thought it might be the graphics of the station crashing my game.
I opened the star map upon login and my character successfully warped to the station and did not crash (perhaps because the graphics never loaded to my screen) and I was able to dock up.
For anyone experiencing something similar, try using your star map as a sort of Perseusian anti-Medusa. |

The station in question for me was a Gallente Federation Assembly Plant. |

Yes it's the cause to this flicker freezing now. I haven't experienced it elsewhere and so it seems no one else has. Does this happen on any Assembly Plant? Or just some specific ones?
It happened to me in Stacmon. I haven't gone near any others yet. |

Elex Akat wrote:Just wanted to chime in and say that I'm also stuck outside a Fed Navy Assembly Plant, specifically the one in Dodixie. I get the same crazy graphical flashes and then everything freezes up. I was really hoping that the Mac client would be stable for more than a couple of days. I've only been able to log in since Tuesday.
As soon as you log in hit F10 to open your starmap. This should let you get away from the station without freezing. It's worked for me and at least one other player in this thread. |
